Um viðburðinn

Frá árinu 2014 hefur hið norska tríó Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity gefið út þrjár plötur sem allar hafa fengið lofsamlega dóma en þær eru «Firehouse», «Live In Europe», og «To whom who buys a record». Með tilnefningar til norsku Grammy verðlaunananna (Spellemannprisen) í farteskinu gaf tríóið svo út sína fyrstu skífu «Elastic Wave» þann 15. júlí 2022 hjá ECM útgáfunni sem er ein sú mikilvægasta í heimi jazztónlistarinnar. Í kjölfarið fór sveitin á langt tónleikaferðalag til að kynna þessa nýju músík. Elastic Wave er enn að fá góða dóma frá hlustendum og blaðafólki um allan heim.

Tríóið hefur komið fram á meira en 150 tónleikum í Noregi, Evrópu, Japan, Bandaríkjunum, Kanada og Brasilíu. Eftir mjög góða umfjöllun um tónleika tríósins á Winterjazz í New York, á Jazzahead í Bremen og á Molde International Jazz Festival með Joshua Redman og Ambrose Akinmusire árið 2019 er litið á Gard Nilssen Acoustic Unity sem framsækið tríó sem þykir með þeim mest spennandi á evrópsku jazzsenunni.

Þessir þrír hljóðfæraleikarar eru mjög virkir og eftirsóttir og þú gætir hafa rekist á þá með einhverjum af eftirfarandi hljómsveitum og tónlistarfólki: Django Bates, Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, Trondheim Jazzorkester, Koma Saxo, Susanne Sundfør, SKRIM, Friends & Neighbors, Bushman´s Revenge, Peter Evans og Enemy.

Tónlistin er frumleg og samin af öllum meðlimum tríósins með fókus á samspil, grúv, skapandi hugsun, dýnamík og orku sem þó skilur nóg pláss eftir fyrir spuna. Acoustic Unity speglar sig óspart á leið sinni til framtíðar.
