Helgi Rúnar Heiðarsson

Helgi Rúnar Heiðarsson is an Icelandic saxophonist and composer. His music is like a tired old man that likes nothing better than to sneak home from a party, put on some Led Zeppelin and fall asleep. He studied under Sigurður Flosason, Hilmar Jensson and Jóel Pálsson at FÍH Music School in Iceland and took part two times in the YNJC with Skver and Aurora Quartet. He has released his own music with HÓBiT (Japl 2020) and DÓH-tríó (DÓH 2018), which got three nominations for the Icelandic Music Awards. Other projects that Helgi has contributed to recently are: Stórsveit Reykjavíkur, SJS Big Band, Orphic Oxtra, Sigmar Þór Matthíasson’s Aurora.
