Anna Gréta Sigurðardóttir

Icelandic jazz pianist and composer Anna Gréta Sigurðardóttir has been living in Sweden since 2014, she has despite her age become one of the most in-demand pianists in Sweden. In the past years she has received numerous awards and nominations, including the Monica Zetterlund award (awarded to one up and coming jazz musician in Sweden each year), nominated to Jazzkatten by the Swedish National Radio, nominated to the Icelandic music awards in two categories (musician and composer of the year) in 2019, received the Friends of Fasching award in 2018 (awarded to one up and coming jazz musician in Sweden each year) and received the Icelandic Music Prize in 2015 for best newcomer in the category of jazz.

She has been active as a composer as well and was chosen among few to compose a piece dedicated to the worldrenowned pianist Bobo Stenson and Norrbotten Big Band. She has been active both as a sideman and as a group leader and among the people she has performed with are Peter Asplund, Magnus Lindgren, Edda Magnason, Håkan Broström, Norrbotten Big Band, Max Schultz and Joakim Milder.
