The award winning composition Requiem by Jakob Buchanan will be performed at Reykjavík Jazz 2022. This will be one of the biggest event in the history of the festival. The concert takes place in Hallgrímskirkja church on August 19th.
This groundbreaking work combines elements from the Latin mass for the dead with European choral tradition, Nordic orchestral music, modern jazz music and improvisation. It will be performed by almost 40 musicians from all over Scandinavia. The Requiem has received many awards and great critical acclaim. This concert will be among the largest productions ever at Reykjavík Jazz. Don’t miss this extraordinary event.
