Gúmbó nr. 5 is a newly formed jazz trio led by Tómas Jónsson, performing fresh original music composed by him. The music is funky and melodic, blending groove with lyrical sensibility.

The trio features:

• Birgir Steinn Theodórsson on double bass

• Magnús Trygvason Elíassen on drums

• Tómas Jónsson on piano, Hammond organ, and melodica

The group recently recorded an album on 8-track tape, set for release in 2025. For their performance at Reykjavík Jazz Festival, the trio will be joined by Þórir Baldursson as a special guest of honor.

*An Evening Pass is available for every night of the festival at Harpa, granting access to all concerts that evening. All performances take place in Norðurljós Hall (2nd floor). Please note: There are no single-ticket sales for individual evening concerts at Harpa.
