Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio has been at the forefront of Icelandic jazz internationally since the release of Long Pair Bond, which they celebrated at the London Jazz Festival in 2011. The trio will record their sixth album in early 2025 and wishes to premiere the new material with a release concert at Reykjavík Jazz Festival.

The program will feature a mix of original compositions and select covers. The music is perhaps best described in the words of Jon Newey from Jazzwise:

“Cool atmospherics and meditative quality draws on Icelandic folk melodies and brooding soundscapes, yet internally has an unhurried Bill Evans-like swing and an appetite to explore the inner soul.”

An Evening Pass is available for every night of the festival at Harpa, granting access to all concerts that evening. All performances take place in Norðurljós Hall (2nd floor). Please note: There are no single-ticket sales for individual evening concerts at Harpa.*
