Icelandic jazz Hammond organist and composer, Sara Magnusdottir creates music filled with rich melodies, deep grooves, and soulful touch. After studying organ in New York City and living there for several years, she brings a unique voice to the Icelandic jazz scene, blending tradition with her own melodic style. Sara now steps forward as a bandleader with her debut album, A Place to Bloom, which she will be celebrating with this special release concert at Reykjavik Jazz Festival.
The album explores themes of wanderlust and finding home in many places. She is joined by a stellar group of musicians, Jóel Pálsson on tenor saxophone, Andrés Thor Gunnlaugsson on guitar, Einar Scheving on drums and Tumi Torfason on trumpet.
An Evening Pass is available for every night of the festival at Harpa, granting access to all concerts that evening. All performances take place in Norðurljós Hall (2nd floor). Please note: There are no single-ticket sales for individual evening concerts at Harpa.*
