Next year marks 110 years since the birth of the singer Eleanora Fagan, later known as Billie Holiday. Billie’s voice was unique, and her interpretation of music and lyrics was unlike any other. Rebekka Blöndal has performed Billie’s music on several tribute occasions and now wishes to present her music at the Reykjavík Jazz Festival.

  • Andrés Þór Gunnlaugsson on guitar

  • Birgir Steinn Theódórsson on double bass

  • Sigurður Flosason on saxophone

  • Svanhildur Lóa on drums

The program will consist of songs Billie performed and made famous, as well as some she wrote herself. The concert will also include a few anecdotes and insights into her life and career.

An Evening Pass is available for every night of the festival at Harpa, granting access to all concerts that evening. All performances take place in Norðurljós Hall (2nd floor). Please note: There are no single-ticket sales for individual evening concerts at Harpa.*
