Björg Blöndal’s C4THERINE performs for the first time in Iceland, bringing fresh and progressive music that leaves no one untouched. The quartet was formed in Oslo in the spring of 2024. The members are: Björg Blöndal (IS) – vocalist, Þorkell Ragnar (IS) – guitarist, Viktoria Søndergaard (DK) – vibraphonist, and Patrycja Wybrańczyk (PL) – drummer. They perform original music composed by Björg, where contemporary jazz and psychedelic rock are woven together into a bold and dynamic sonic landscape. Colorful melodies, surreal soundscapes, and powerful riffs interact, and the quartet does not hesitate to challenge the norm.

The band recently recorded their debut album, Wild Blue Yonder, which is set to be released in late 2025. Wild Blue Yonder is a “concept album,” a kind of reckoning with the loss of a mother, with grief in its many forms serving as the connecting thread. The album brings together diverse compositions in a powerful way, led by a spirit of playfulness and sincerity. Emotions are given free rein and are expressed and interpreted in a raw yet poetic manner, with or without lyrics.

At Reykjavík Jazz Festival 2025, C4THERINE will perform material from the aforementioned album alongside more recent compositions by Björg.

An Evening Pass is available for every night of the festival at Harpa, granting access to all concerts that evening. All performances take place in Norðurljós Hall (2nd floor). Please note: There are no single-ticket sales for individual evening concerts at Harpa.*
