Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct – Reykjavík Jazz Festival
Values
Reykjavík Jazz Festival is committed to providing a safe, relaxed, and friendly environment for all individuals involved in the festival, including staff and participants. We ask all attendees, employees, and collaborators to treat each other with respect, be mindful of cultural differences, and support one another.
If an individual engages in behavior that violates this code of conduct, we encourage reporting it in accordance with the procedures outlined below. Ensuring a safe environment is only possible through the collective participation of all.

- Any other behavior that an individual perceives as inappropriate or causing discomfort.
Reporting and Responsibility
Reykjavík Jazz Festival ensures a secure and effective process for reporting violations:
- Individuals have the right to report incidents to the festival’s board, whether they experience or witness them. The board will then direct the report to the appropriate professionals.
- If an individual prefers not to report an incident to the board for any reason, they may contact the relevant authorities, such as the police, Stígamót (a center for survivors of sexual violence), or other appropriate response organizations. In emergencies, dial 112.
- Serious violations may result in:
- A formal warning
- Expulsion
- Disqualification from serving on the board, performing, or working at festival events
This code of conduct is published on the festival’s website and is introduced to all performers and staff upon signing their contracts.
