Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio – Norðurljós kl 19:00
Tríó Sunnu Gunnlaugs er eitt af þeim íslensku böndum sem er hvað mest áberandi á alþjóðajazzsenunni. Á undanförnum árum hafa þau verið iðin við að leika í Evrópu, Bandaríkjunum og Kanada. Næmt samspil þeirra dregur hlustandann inn með ljúfsárum laglínum í bland við krefjandi form. Tveir diskar þeirra “Long Pair Bond” og “Distilled” hafa hlotið frábærar móttökur gagnrýnenda og á þessum tónleikum fagna þau útkomu 3 disks síns.
Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio is among the most prominent Icelandic jazz groups on the international scene. In recent years they have toured extensively in Europe, the US and Canada. The trio draws on their collective experiences having lived abroad (whether in NYC or Holland) and returning to Iceland to develop a musical approach which draws listeners in with beautiful melodies and challenges them with intricate forms and free improvisation.
