City Hall – Opening Ceremony

The city center will be alive with the sound of jazz during the Reykjavik Jazz Festival which takes place on the 4th to 8th of September. Icelandic jazz is really buzzing right now and during the festival you will be able to listen to the cream of the crop on the scene as well as some very exciting collaborations between Icelandic and international artists.

The opening ceremony will be in the city Hall at 5:30 pm or just after the traditional parade which starts at Hlemmur square at 5:00 pm. The parade goes right through town and ends up in the city hall where live music and a couple of mandatory but very short and entertaining speeches will be on offer.
